While you still have your main system as a fallback, get a used cheap laptop with ~8gb ram just to fuck around and try linux, install [your distro] FedoraKDE, and play around.

If a relative or friend is upgrading and gonna trash their current because the HW is choked by windows, ask to buy it for a reasonable price, cheap to you because old trash HW anyway, but a couple bucks to help them with their new purchase, win win. That HW that will no longer run windows will run linux just fine, and then you can main the laptop for a bit while you learn but still can boot into your old system to troubleshoot and also don’t have to fuck with dual booting and windows fucking with your linux or boot partitions.

On bash I found out alt+. puts the last last parameter back up, and you can hit it again to keep cycling, that’s what I’ve been using.

Thanks! I’ve watched a couple videos on the exposure triangle while I was waiting on the camera, but I’ve had it less than a week, and while I’ve had it I’ve just been playing with auto to familiarize myself with the camera and stuff so far, so I’m familiar with it in theory but have yet to really start messing with it myself and learning it. I will start though, soon!

I have not yet watched anything on composition or lighting so those are foreign concepts to me (beyond “light good but don’t blow out whites” lol).

Yeah I’ll need to learn how to clean it for sure but not right now, it seems to be doing just fine so far!
