If only there were a better way to move freight from one dedicated location to another dedicated location. If we could basically teleport goods between Chicago, Atlanta, Kansas City, and Dallas, THEN we’d be able to have semis (or even smaller trucks) only handle the more local portions, and we’d save easily billions on road maintenance.

These kids know what the Holocaust was. Someone should explain to them that it’s coming back. For a few people, it’s already here, but it’s coming for more. They need to be sat down for a real history lesson. And they need to understand that there is very little in the way of the world repeating that history, or worse.

They should understand that they need to be more worried if they don’t get in much trouble, not less. They need to understand how jokes and pranks provide cover and acceptance for these kinds of things. They need to understand that their jokes are not actually harmless, because they pave the way for people to actually believe and do these things while believing they’ll have a group that accepts them for it.

And hopefully, on top of all that, they’ll still see some kind of punishment. Not enough to ruin their lives, because they are dumb kids being dumb, but enough to discourage this from spreading.

Because you have to use VS Code instead of VS? You can always deploy to a Windows VM if you need to be sure IIS works. Though everything will just run on dotnet and nginx through a reverse proxy if you want to stay within Linux.

They’re not trying to. They’re mostly trying to replace the need for wages and salaries.

The fact that they’re doing it with effectively “we have wage slaves at home” leads to your point.

AI can be a great tool. As an assistant. As a fancy search engine. And sometimes to do the most menial parts of jobs. But it doesn’t directly replace people. Even in the case of taking fast food orders, first that’s not a whole job, and second, it still needs supervision. It’s a tool.
