It’s that a properly administered epidural or spinal anesthesic wouldn’t work that way.
NERDERY INCOMING
An epidural injects a numbing agent just outside of the spinal cord. The intent is to numb the nearby nerves as the anesthetic slowly diffuses into their roots and their corresponding section of spinal cord. It should not go into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
What they’re likely doing is an intrathecal injection for a spinal anesthesic, which does go into the CSF. That intensely numbs a portion of the body and is more common for surgery while conscious. The reason it’s done is it’s very effective while also using extremely small amounts of anesthetic. In other words, you barely feel it locally, much less systemically, because so little is used. That’s the point.
You might ask how I know all of this. I’ve had three. The account in the original post is full of shit.
By force if needed.

LOL I suspect you give less than zero fucks or this is a clever ploy for Jeffrey Crockett to receive some rather confusing correspondence. Love it either way.
My tuppence worth is Jeffrey or Jeff sounds warmer, softer, and friendlier while Neil sounds cooler (as in less warm), stronger, and classier. Jeff/rey is a fantastic golden retriever. Neil, from the Gaelic Niall, is the cat that sleeps atop your bookcase and occasionally descends to accept your food offerings.

17·24 days agoI think the mistake is assuming they actually hold all of those beliefs.
Have you even argued with someone whose standards constantly shift so they’re always in the right, even when they soon back a position they were criticizing you for earlier in that conversation? That’s because they’re frantically defending another belief, sometimes one they aren’t even aware of themselves, and are either oblivious or unscrupulous enough to not notice or care how they’re doing it.
Far-right movements like the US Republicans are made of the frauds, fascists, and con artists running the show, the low-level grifters and bigots who aspire to one day be them, and the idiots too stupid to see they’re being deceived and swindled.
