I think you’re on to something. Posts a puzzle “this is really hard can anyone solve it?” This post, “I lost 20 matches to an AI”. Its engagement bait just like those “only 1 in 5 people can solve this problem” type of ads.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for Software to Track Watched ShowsEnglish
1·16 hours agoInterested in this too. I’ve been using the app TV Time for years now, but I’m not married to it. It works. Would be nice to have something that integrated into my self hosted apps tho, that isn’t Trakt cause I’m not paying for that.
Pretty sure that’s just a normal ability for twins /s
Oh, see I actually meant Admiral Ackbar 😂
But yeah her too. Really tho having her blown out during decompression was THE WAY to give her a solid heartfelt death, only then to suddenly have her display wild Jedi powers she never hinted at before was a choice.
Or having a beloved character die off screen

Gotcha. Thanks for explaining.
Blockbuster and similar video rental stores. Shit was magical before streaming or even getting movies in the mail.
People increasingly want their voices heard and are taking action by choosing the companies they support.
These can be due to privacy concerns, environmental reasons, boycotting US companies, or other causes.
Doesn’t the premise imply that Spotify should be in the left column instead then?
The service being “superior” or convenient is counter to the argument.
The companies below have proven to be reputable and worth supporting.
Spotify

Says something about see deep dive for disclaimer, but I don’t see a link in the post body. But interested to see what’s on there.
Edit: found the link
Warning
They pay significantly less royalties, promote AI music, and platform podcasters who spread misinformation - context: https://t.ly/spotify-history. They do offer a superior service, but some people choose not to support them for these reasons.
Yeah so, that doesn’t align with “reputable” and “worth supporting”.

35·9 days agoWhatever it was before, go back.
Read their design guide when I was learning proper UI/UX design and there was a lot of detail on how designing it to be simple and intuiting how users used the interface. Not putting options behind a ton of sub menus, making buttons a certain size, what feedback is expected, how best to make notifications readable, etc. It’s like they threw out everything and said fuck it.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Star Citizen Hits $900 Million in Crowdfunding After a Record-Breaking YearEnglish
64·12 days agoThe broader gaming community often perceives it as a scam, criticizing it for its long development timeline, delays, monetization model, and ongoing technical issues.
That’s because it is a scam, full stop. The game will never leave alpha. It’s been 13 years, what you see is all you’re gonna get. They’ll keep releasing several hundred dollar ship “DLC”s every year or so just to keep the money flowing, but they’ll never deliver a finished product. Damn shame too.

4·12 days agoYeah this right here looks exactly what I was looking for.
Been transferring files for sometime over a Wireguard connection, but it’s a bit of a pain to use so I’ve been looking for something better.
Appreciate the tip @mike_wooskey@lemmy.thewooskeys.com
