Saotome-kun in Kawaihara-senpai (manga though, not anime)

I went to the 30th anniversary Evangelion exhibit at Roppongi last week. It was a lot of fun! I’ll make a post about it tomorrow.

Haibane Renmei (kind of)
Not a comfy watch but the world has this nice charm to it.

I really loved the filler episodes of Paranoia Agent. I actually liked it more than the whole series itself lol

Around Vol. 5, Chapter 35 onward

I suggest picking up the manga from where the first season ended if you want to continue on with the story. Season 2 has a lot of changes that weren’t good and disappointed a lot of fans. The manga kind of has its own problems too IMO but it’s a better experience overall.

I really have to see this. Haven’t found much time to watch long series(es?) lately but movies have kind of scratched that media itch. Finished Mind Game yesterday (incredible movie btw), maybe I’ll watch this tomorrow night.

I finally got the courage to finish Madoka Magica (after talking to someone in class about anime, she recommended Madoka Magica, THANK YOU!). I always get stuck at ~episode 4. I can see why this is very popular and sometimes compared to Evangelion. It’s going to be up there in the my “masterpiece” tier of anime.
I really like how Madoka is essentially the definition of what a magical girl is, a symbol of hope. The writing is incredible.
I like Mami.

I watched Bakemonogatari first (well, the entire Monogatari Series) then Bunny Girl Senpai. I was surprised by the similarities. I prefer Bakemonogatari just because it’s more enjoyable to watch thanks to the unique animation style.
Go watch the rest of it :D The rest of the series doesn’t follow the same formula or structure as Bakemonogatari

I see you.

I like how these trailers are always like “I want more” then everything becomes chaotic. The gameplay does feel like that.
That’s pretty good!

More Nadeko!
Why is Persona 3 Portable more expensive than Persona 4 Golden? Why is SEGA being so stingy with only a 20% discount. Another 5% (on the SALE price) if we use the Persona bundle. Why SEGA…? It’s the oldest and ugliest one. Why…
I’d prefer to just leave this as disclaimers in the flair, title, or body. A percentage is awkward to use. I can imagine users setting it to 1% just to get around people’s content filters. I just don’t think people will be honest with a tool like this.
I assume this is for AI art communities, in which case I think anti-AI users would already block. I’d prefer self-assignable community tags. An AI community could tag itself with #ai and users with a global blocklist could just block #ai. Somebody here mentioned wanting a “politics filter” and you could apply that here too. Communities can assign themselves with #politics.
On top of that it can be like how Lemmy communities already post to Mastodon or Misskey using hashtags of their names (e.g. !gundam@ani.social posts show up in #gundam).
Anyway, I think most AI stuff stay within their own communities. I don’t often see both AI and non-AI stuff within the same community.
I read the manga from time to time. Learned about it from this group too. Can also recommend it for the dirt jokes lol

I was watching this late last night so I missed the first part and I didn’t realize that it was Patrick Galbraith on screen! I’ve been reading some of his works lately like Otaku and the Struggle for Imagination in Japan and his articles like Lolicon. I think everyone here on !anime should read his works.
Anyway, I’m too young to know what much of anime culture was like two decades ago, and my only trip to Akihabara was a few years ago so I never really saw what the “old Akihabara” was like. Though my experience was pretty much exactly described as the “current Akihabara” in the video so it’s pretty cool to learn more about it.
I should probably go back with a friend because I mostly just went around for a few hours looking at figures, searching for a particular monochrome Hitagi figure. Though it is true, there was a lot of ehh… sex industry stuff lol. Kind of funny how Galbraith mentions it in the video with such an ominous tone lol.
I think it’s only the local copy. I could apply this setting to remote communities. It would be nice if Lemmy/Piefed/Mbin could fetch old remote posts on-demand instead of always keeping a copy of it.

Been watching his videos for ~10 years now
